with the election

so i haven't decided who i am going to vote for yet... Gary Johnson, the Libertarian candidate or decide to go ahead and right in Ron Paul because i love him.

i am disgusted with politics.  both the left and the right is corrupt, they play for the same team, they are both pushing our society towards a totalitarian state.  one side raises taxes and spends it on shit we don't need, the economy takes a hit and we hire the other guy cause we 'think' he will fix our problems but really its the same thing, a relay race to totalitarianism.  one side will spend it on controlling our social lives, the other, on controlling our economic lives.  eventually the federal government will have complete control over both.

i don't understand why people don't see that.  i don't understand why people don't think for themselves.  and i know how that sounds, i mean i'm in essence writing this telling people my political perspective all the while saying people should think for themselves?  i mean really it kind of seems like i'm saying "people should think like me."  i'm quite aware that it kind of comes off like "i'm right, you're wrong" but to be honest, i am and i thank Ayn Rand for giving me 'self esteem' to admit it.  i want to inspire others.  and i'm not saying this is gospel or anything, but the 27 years of being a part of this human condition, these things i right are things that truly resonate within my being.

i was listening to Ayn Rand this morning and she got inside my head with a few things.  one important aspect  was selfishness and in an interview she was asked the value of it.  see below:
